“The Snowman” with the Tampere Academic Symphony Orchestra

The beloved animated film The Snowman (1982) tells the story of a Christmas adventure experienced by little boy James and Snowman. Live music is provided by the Tampere Academic Symphony Orchestra TASO, conducted by Kimmo Tullila. There will be two performances, at 5 p.m. and 

The classic animated film The Snowman (1982) has been celebrating Christmas for many children for more than three decades. The animation about the adventures of little James Boy and Snowman on Christmas night is based on Raymond Briggs ’picture book of the same name and its original illustration. The music that creates the magical atmosphere of the animation has been composed by Howard Blake, also known as a pianist and conductor . The music of the Snowman animation is his most famous work and its touching theme melody “Walking in the Air” has been performed by several artists in various arrangements. In this concert it will be sung by the boy soprano Pirkanpojis.

A limited number of tickets are sold for concerts according to the maximum safe capacity of the hall. Concert tickets are sold unnumbered.
